Under 5s & Families

At The Gap Project, we are passionate about supporting families during the vital early years of a child’s life. Our Under 5s and Family sessions provide safe, welcoming spaces where children can learn through play and parents can build friendships, confidence and support networks. All sessions are led by experienced and caring staff and volunteers who are committed to helping families thrive. 

Parents and Toddlers  

Ages Pre-school children
When Tuesday 9.30am - 11am

Our Parents and Toddlers group offers a warm and friendly environment where parents (or guardians/carers) and children can enjoy playtime, crafts, singing and refreshments together. It’s a wonderful opportunity for children to develop social and early learning skills while parents connect with others in a relaxed and supportive setting. Rainbows Crèche

Ages 22 months to school age
When Thursday 9.30am - 11am

Children can be left from 22 months to school age. Rainbows Crèche provides high-quality childcare in a nurturing and stimulating environment. Children enjoy a wide range of activities including imaginative play, large play equipment, story time, parachute games, singing and crafts. This session supports children’s confidence, creativity and early development while giving parents valuable time for coffee, appointments or self-care, with the comfort that their children are being well looked after. 

Fee: £6.00

Baby Focus

Ages Babies - 14 months
When Weekly Thursday 12.30pm- 2pm

Baby Focus is designed especially for first-time mums and their babies. This relaxed and friendly group offers encouragement and support through play, singing and shared experiences, all with a cup of coffee and friendly conversation. It’s a gentle way to build confidence, reduce isolation and form new friendships during those early months of parenthood.

Down with Friends

When Wednesday's 10:00 - 11:30 am
Who Families with children who have Down's Syndrome

Down with Friends is a welcoming and inclusive parent and toddler group for families of children with Down Syndrome. Families can enjoy activities together, take part in singing sessions and meet other parents who understand their journey. This group offers connection, encouragement and a sense of belonging within a supportive community, led by a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant with a specialist interest in working with individuals and their families/carers with Down Syndrome.

Fee: £2.00

Family Café

When Last Monday of each month 3:30-5:30
Who Families with children

Family Cafe is our monthly themed event for families to enjoy time together in a relaxed and welcoming space. Each month has a different theme with lots of themed crafts, fun activities, bible story and games for children and adults to enjoy together. We finish the evening with a free teatime meal for the whole family, giving everyone the chance to sit, eat, and chat in a friendly café-style setting.
